Personal Vehicle Information
NYSBA Commuter Discount Plan: Customer must be an E-ZPass account holder in good standing and be enrolled in the NYS Bridge Authority Discount Plan to receive discounts. A minimum of $17.00 (17 trips) will be charged each month at $1.00 for each Class 1 tag assigned the NYSBA Discount Plan. Each additional trip will be charged at the $1.00 discount rate. You may suspend the Discount Plan up to four times a year for periods of one week or longer by contacting the E-ZPass Service Center. Axle & Wheel Weight Limits
Vehicles exceeding the following limits must receive a NYS Bridge Authority Permit in order to cross:
Single Wheel 11,200 lbs.
Single Axle 22,400 lbs.
Tandem Axles (less than 8' apart) 36,000 lbs. Tandem Axles (8' - 10' apart) 40,000 lbs.

Oversize Vehicle Time Restrictions
Unusually wide or long vehicles are prohibited from crossing Bridge Authority facilities during the following periods:
All vehicles in excess of 8 1/2 feet (102 inches) wide, exclusive of safety devices such as lights or mirrors, or 75 feet long, except legal tandem trailers, shall be deemed “unusual” for the purpose of this regulation.
At the Bear Mountain Bridge, the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and Rip Van Winkle Bridge, such vehicles shall be prohibited between the hours of 6:30 A.M. and 8:30 A.M., and between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.
At the Mid-Hudson Bridge, such vehicles shall be prohibited at all times when the bridge is being operated in a three-lane configuration, currently between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. and between the hours of 3:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M.
Additional prohibitions may be posted from time to time during construction periods or weather related situations.
Operators should contact the facility to be used well in advance to assure that the desired crossing will be permitted.
Oversize vehicles must call the individual Bridge Office
to ascertain any additional lane closure or traffic restrictions.
